Dr. Rajith MendisDr Rajith Mendis is a Head and Neck surgeon with extensive subspecialty training in a range of head and neck, and endocrine conditions as well as reconstruction. After completing his MBBS at UNSW he undertook general surgery training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). He subsequently undertook additional subspecialty training for 2 years as the Head and Neck and Surgical Oncology fellow at Westmead hospital, and he then completed further fellowships training in Head and Neck and microvascular reconstruction at Wollongong hospital and Chris O'Brien Lifehouse hospital. During this time he was trained in the management of a range of thyroid and parathyroid conditions, including advanced malignancy.
He is an active member of the Westmead Thyroid MDT and is a clinical lecturer (Sydney University) reflecting his strong interest in both research and teaching. He has authored many peer reviewed journal articles as well as book chapters, and has also been awarded teaching awards through both Sydney University and Westmead Hospital.
