Dr Kowsi Murugappan is an Australian-trained Breast and Endocrine Surgeon. She obtained her medical degree at Monash University in 2004 and then completed her General Surgical training at the Austin Hospital and Monash Health between 2006-2012.
After completing three years of Breast and Endocrine fellowships at Nepean Hospital Sydney, Christchurch Hospital, NZ and Royal Brisbane Hospital, Brisbane, she accepted a staff specialist position at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in 2016.
In this role Dr Murugappan has continued to indulge her passion for clinical teaching and research and is currently one of the principle breast cancer clinical researchers working within the UQ Centre for Clinical Research, with a growing body of published research.
Over the years, Dr. Murugappan has proven to be a compassionate and dedicated Breast and Endocrine Surgeon providing high quality of care for her patients. She is currently member of General Surgeons of Australia (GSA), Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand (BreastSurg ANZ) and International Society of Surgery (ISS).
