A/Prof. Cino Bendinelli

Conjoint Associate Professor Cino Bendinelli is a double certified general surgeon specialising in endocrine surgery. He has expertise in all aspects of thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery and performs more than 200 minimally-invasive and traditional thyroid and parathyroid procedures per year. He graduated with honours from the University of Pisa Medical School in Italy, and held a post-graduate Fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at Rhode Island Hospital, USA. In Australia, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Australasian Surgeons in 2010, and was appointed Conjoint Associate Professor at the University of Newcastle in 2019. A/Prof Bendinelli is active in clinical research projects studying thyroid and parathyroid surgery; he has been published in international peer-reviewed journals and an invited speaker at local and international surgical conferences. He has a particular interest in thyroid cancer and chairs the Thyroid Cancer Multidisciplinary Team in the Hunter New England health district.
