Dr Ali completed his surgical training and became Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery in 2019. Dr Ali was selected for post- fellowship training in three consecutive years. He completed a year of fellowship in Trauma surgery (2020) followed by a year of fellowship in Surgical Oncology, Melanoma and Sarcoma surgery (2021) at Westmead Hospital. In 2022, he completed a year of fellowship in Endocrine and Head & Neck surgery at Liverpool Hospital where he further enhanced his surgical and clinical skills in the management of Endocrine, Head & Neck cancers.
 
Dr Ali is passionate about utilizing novel technologies in surgery. His research on utilizing Augmented Reality in rib fixation has been awarded Brendan Dooley/Gordon Trinca Trauma Research Scholarship by RACS ANZ Scholarship and Grant committee.
