Stephen Farrell has 20 years of exclusive practice in Endocrine Surgery in both public and private hospitals.
 
Stephen is one of Australia’s leading Endocrine Surgeons. He has a vast experience of all aspects of endocrine surgery having performed more than 4500 thyroidectomies and more than 1800 parathyroidectomies.
When possible, he performs minimally invasive parathyroid surgery, laparoscopic or retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy as well as minimally invasive thyroid surgery.

Parathyroid surgery for: parathyroid adenoma, hyperparathyroidism, parathyroid cancer
Thyroid surgery for: thyroid nodule, multinodular goitre, Graves’ disease, thyroid cancer

Pancreatic surgery for: Islet cell tumour, Insulinoma and Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia
 
He is a member of the ANZES, AAES and IAES and has regularly been an invited speaker for the RACS Annual Scientific Congress and a faculty member for the ANZES Postgraduate Course in Endocrine Surgery. Mr Farrell convened the endocrine section of the RACS Annual Scientific Congress held in Hong Kong in 2008.
